WILLIAM BUCK STRATTON, PEWABIC LUSTER POTTERY PITCHER, CA. 1910, H 5", W 3.5", D 6.75"

An early Pewabic Pottery pitcher by the husband of Mary Chase Stratton (American, 1867-1961), William Buck Stratton. Having a luster glaze boasting cobalt, brass and lavender tones. Playful designs incised to the bodice. Signed "PEWABIC" and initialed "WBS" to the underside. From the collection of Kathleen Dell, friend of Ella Peters (Mary Chase Stratton's bookkeeper). Featured on Antiques Roadshow in 2014.


Condition:
Good; natural inconsistencies to glaze, slight fracture to handle, 1/4" repair to fractured handle, honest surface wear, 1.25" painted area to side of pitcher (surface has no observable crack/abrasion to the exterior or interior). CP
