PEWABIC LUSTER POTTERY VASE, CA. 1920, H 19.25", DIA 8.5"

An early Pewabic Pottery vase. Having a luster glaze boasting copper, cobalt and lavender tones. In 1975, Karel Weist gave the following description: "Tall jar, everted neck, glazed blue at neck and shoulder over iridescent bronze basic glaze, unmarked, but certified as early production of Pewabic Pottery." From the estate of Beulah Boist; the widow of James B. Webber, former Vice President and Merchandise Director of J. L. Hudson Company.


Condition:
Good; natural inconsistencies to glaze, minor crazing throughout. CP There is a shallow chip at the base edge measuring approx. 1/2" x 1/4".
