Unsigned. Inscribed on verso "JE Buttersworth" in graphite (see additional photos). In a period gilt gesso on wood frame H 16" W 23". Provenance: From the collection of a prominent Lake Angelus collector. DuMouchelles auction, September, 2013; Property of a Glenwood IA collector.
No evidence of over paint, restoration, or damage when viewed under natural or UV light. JE Buttersworth inscription on verso appears to have been done by pencil and went unnoticed in 2013 and until February 2021.
